Question:
I am in the market to purchase a 35mm and would like some advise if anyone would be so kind. I am looking for a camera that when my wife uses she can point and shoot. I am looking for a camera that I can interchange lenses, change exposure times, f-stop and all that kind of stuff. Is there a camera out there that can do all that and is one camera? I would like to buy a high end model camera. Not professional, but not your everyday camera. I am into gizmos and gadgets. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Before you buy.

Any of the modern auto-focus 35mm cameras will the job. She can use the standard 50mm A/F lens and get the shots she wants, and you can interchange lenses for the versatility you want. Look at features (how much tinkering can be done) and feel (do I like how it feels to me) including the display and ease of use. While I have a preference, I won’t say what it is — you should look for yourself at all the models available. You might also consider getting two cameras. It might not save any money but might save on the question of who takes the camera and does what with it. I am in the market to purchase a 35mm and would like some advise if anyone would be so kind. Your wife might like the Contax G2 or G1, and it probably has enough features to make a gizmo/gadget person happy. Incidentally, it can take great pictures. Some of the lenses are kinda expensive, though. Richard S. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I am in the market to purchase a 35mm and would like some advise if anyone would be so kind. I would strongly recommend the Canon Elan-IIe. It’s a point and shoot, if you want it to be; it’s also an amazingly versatile and very capable professional-quality camera, if you want it to be. It has enough features to satisfy just about anyone, yet they can all be either turned on or off. It has built-in flash and take all the Canon EOS line of lenses. You won’t go wrong with it. Since you want point and shoot operation, You should go for a camera with a built-in flash. I would suggest the following in (decreasing) order of gizmos(all have built-in flash). 1- Minolta Maxuum 9. 2- Canon A2E 3- Pentax PZ-1P 4- Minolta Maxuum 8 5- Canon Elan IIE 6- Nikon N70 7- Canon Rebel 2000 P.S. Nikon N90s would be quite good and if it had a built-in flash I would put it at number (3) in my list. I am in the market to purchase a 35mm and would like some advise if anyone would be so kind. Just a quick note about some possible options. I don’t know what you are looking to spend, but you might want to look into the Nikon N70 with a tamron 28-200 mm lens. It would end up costing about $550 or so, but you end up with a very versatile camera that anyone can use. I’m sure that if you check, Canon has a comparable model. If you’re interested in an APS camera, there are a few by Canon and Nikon that use interchangable lens……the same lenses the 35mm cameras use.

And the eye-control AF is the ultimate gizmo
