This message board is an example of how childish most of you really are. 75% of you spend your time professing your love for your camera. The majority of you all have no life. Shoot your camera and stop comparing lenses and bodies. If you are happy with your Nikon or Canon than I am happy for you, although it would not be my choice. Please stop camera bashing German "designed" cameras (yes contax is designed by the Germans, which also produce 6 or so lenses for Contax.), If you are doing well in the field of photography and your income affords the best, then why not have it, if you want it. Why not spend more time on how to take better picture, or something like that. I am glade that I AM NOT LISTENING TO THIS BOARD FOR LEARING PHOTOGRAPHY. whatever steven

FYI, this is an equipment newsgroup. it reads, "rec.photo.equipment.35mm". it’s an unmoderated newsgroup. its dominant purpose is discussion on equipment. hence why it is only imperative what we discuss lenses and bodies. technique goes to rec.photo.technique.*. secondly, there is no correlation between the love of camera equipment and the lack of a life. i fail to see why the two can’t co-exist. we do not live in a mutually exclusive world, where things are in either or. perhaps you are finding it difficult to multitask. that, i suppose, is something you have to work on. thirdly, if you find it frightful reading postings that puts down the equipment you use, then the solutions are: (i) ignore such postings; or (ii) respond to such postings. my suggestion is to ignore such postings. i do that most of the time. perhaps you might find it helpful assisting a "newbie" when queries on Contax SLRs (i assume that is what you are using) are made. but then again, it’s an equipment group and you find it highly offensive talking about equipment. lastly, this newsgroup is not a substitute for learning photography. it could potentially be seen as a supplement to learning photography, though one has to be very cautious given that there are a lot of "experts" out here talking hypothetically rather than practically. in any event, it’s unmoderated. everyone is free to say what they wish. if you find it offensive, unsubscribe. bl – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – This message board is an example of how childish most of you really are. 75% of you spend your time professing your love for your camera. Well, this isn’t a "message board", it’s actually a newsgroup which is part of usenet, not part of AOL. The purpose of this particular newsgroup is to discuss equipment, not technique. There are other newsgroups which do focus on technique, so why don’t you stop your juvenile ranting and try one of those? Karl.

There is absolutely no picture you can get with your system that a Nikon or Canon or Minolta, etc. user couldn’t get. Well I’m "glade" of that , I personally don’t listen to this "board" , I read it for "LEARING" photography. If you don’t like it here, then get out!

We get the occasionally idiot like you that gets his kicks out of causing trouble but most of us are able to ignore this fool and carry on our civilised communication.
